TL;DR: The Hario Polaris weighing plate measures 125 mm x 120 mm x 4 mm.
Hario Polaris doesn’t come with a mat or pad by default. For a scale at its price point, I personally think that’s a bit hard to accept.
Turns out, without heat insulation, the scale is known to exhibit weight drift influenced by heat from the carafe while you brew. People on Reddit have been working around this by placing coasters or other makeshift mats between the plate and the carafe, to act as a heat barrier.
I was thinking of making my own mat, but couldn’t find the plate’s dimensions anywhere online. So I measured it myself, and figured I’d share it here for other Polaris owners:
125 mm x 120 mm x 4 mm.

Hope this saves someone else the trouble of pulling out a ruler. If you end up making your own mat, let me know what material you used, I’m curious what works best against the heat.
