Mickey 17 – some thoughts about the Creepers

Spoiler alert.

This post contains spoilers.

I watched Mickey 17 on the weekend. I think it’s a solid sci-fi movie. I haven’t read the book but I noticed something about the Creepers. I really don’t think they’re the only species on the planet.

When Kenneth Marshall went to the surface to confront the mother Creeper, the Creepers performed a defensive maneuver to hide the mother Creeper and confuse Marshall’s team.

Until the end of the movie, we haven’t seen any other natives aside from the Creeper, but from the defensive maneuver, I think they’re not the only one on the planet Niflheim.

I believe that the tactic is honed through an evolutionary process, not something the Creepers thought of on the spot. That made me sure that there’s another species that’s hostile to the Creepers; or at the very least, there’s another Creeper colony that’s not in good terms with the Creeper colony we see in the movie.

In short, I believe the tactical maneuver that the Creeper did in the movie is a defensive move needed to evade hostile species, or maybe it’s a defensive tactic needed to go against other Creeper colonies.

These are probably discussed in the books, but I wanted to write down these thoughts before I searched for more info about the book hahaha
